A brief on winDrush
Windrush is a company operating out of Sydney, Australia.
Beginning in 2018 (as a sole trading business), Windrush initially begun with handyman, carpentry and cabinet making services. Jack Praxis (Director) then constructed a motorhome solo and started accruing engineering works. From there, Windrush begun expanding its repertoire, tanking on projects from all spheres of metalwork.
In 2024, Windrush has grown into a team of experienced welders, supported by a network of many skilled subcontractors in the welding, fabrication and construction industries.
Windrush operates on a business model that prioritizes reducing overheads, paying fair wages and remaining more cost efficient than other competition. We hold pride in the high standards of work achieved through passionate work ethics, transparent communications and high quality equipment and materials.
ETHICS
Windrush-Client Ethics:
We believe that the foundation of any successful business is built on strong ethics and transparency. When upholding these values we run into fewer miscommunications, managed expectations, greater efficiency and sleeping at night is easy.
Transparency is essential as results speak for themselves. Without transparency, in time, dishonesty is revealed and liabilty arises. We have found that being upfront, even if it means to operate at our own cost, allows us to move forward without the threat of consequences.
Our commitment to ethical practices and transparency is reflected in our service. We ensure that every project we undertake is carried out with honesty, fairness, and openness. We are sure to clearly outline the costs associated with each project, as well as our project plan, so our clients are fully informed every step of the way.
Internal Ethics:
All subcontractors and employees of Windrush are granted a generous wage above the market average. Windrush employees are granted benefits such as personal vehicles, personal tools and welding machines.
Reducing overheads, maximizing low effort revenue, investing cash flow and limiting the directors wage means that this is possible.
If quoted contracts are completed more efficiently than originally estimated, a majority of the discount is put forward to the client, then the employee and lastly, the company.
There is no tolerance for bullying, harassment or workplace egotistical hierarchies.
Environmental:
Environmental ethics affect everybody, but thats not the only reason its important to us. We’re also committed to becoming as efficient and independent as possible. By reusing materials correctly and transitioning to renewables, we can envision a business economy that minimizes all outgoings, much more than today.
Windrush ensures all supplied materials come as close as possible to being completely exhausted for each allocated job. Scrap materials are upcycled and repurposed through personal projects or works that are suitable.
By 2030 Windrush is committed to produce at least %50 of the power required for its metalworking processes from entirely renewable energy and batteries. Currently, we host enough lithium-ion batteries and solar to run two days of low amperage welding machines for two people.
Our current limitation is energy density in battery systems which prevents us working in areas that are confined, elevated or have difficult access.
